The wreckage

Rate this performance at The Sims On Stage

A reader recently asked me if I had any hints on how to maintain a positive outlook on life. I started to write my response and soon realized that by simply asking the question he'd done me a favor. And so, here is my response.I think the great struggle of life is to smile in the face of defeat or disappointment and then turning to face the inner darkness. That metaphor sounds nice, but sometimes it doesn't capture it. It's an ambitious persons selling out. A rich persons turned corrupt. An honest person turned a thief. The religious person spiritually penniless. It's all those choices stacked upon themselves blowing precariously in the wind of life. And there we stand beside it wondering what else we could have constructed?

Sometimes we get a second chance when those plans come tumbling down.

And so those well laid plans that are scattered all around us are only a disaster if we choose to view them that way. Because in that wreckage lies a masterpiece if we're just willing to pick up those pieces and build it.

If you only had one day to live.

Have you ever considered what you would do if you only had one day left to live? The first thing I would do is write a final blog telling everyone goodbye and thanking them for all the inspiring and infuriating thoughts we shared, both of which were much needed. We agreed and disagreed agreeably with few exceptions. I'd also email and phone my closest friends and family members whose anvils helped shape the cookie I am today. The conversations would be short since there would be much still to do. With the remaining hours I would consider whether my time here was well spent. Throughout my life the goals and defining purpose of my existence have continually evolved. In the beginning much of my time was spent attempting to accomplish the goals of those who came before me. And often those goals were a list of things they were unable or unwilling to accomplish during their lives. Parents often live vicariously through their children in this way. And it's understandable as many of those goals are noble, but there comes a day when we must choose our own path or relent to the path chosen for us. It's not an easy decision since going our own way can sometimes ostracize the people who love us most. But simply going our own way doesn't mean we made the right choice. Sometimes we choose dead ends or travel in circles. Neither of which gets us to our goal or fulfills our destiny. And destiny is tricky. We hear about destiny as if it's a foregone conclusion, but I don't think so. In the same way I don't think a child is destined for prison anymore than they are destined to be the president. I think we choose our path and it is made easier or more difficult based upon our circumstance. Sadly, few of us measure the distance as much as we measure the goal. And by that I mean we focus on our place in the world in relation to where we are headed. It's like a race with a distant finish line. And we sometimes forget that life places us at different starting points. And while it's easy to shake our heads in disgust because the finish line seems an impossible distance, we often do it at our own expense. How often do we ask, "How far have you come?" Unfortunately the analogy doesn't quite work, because we're not racing against each other. The race is against ourselves. And I hope in that final day we can all say it was a race well run

Golf Balls For Valentine’s Day

Ridiculous or not? I really don’t know. But if you’re looking for something to get your Valentine, these cusrom imprinted logo balls just might do the trick. Golfballs dot Com has a variety of ready made logos and you can get them on practically any ball you want. I guess i won’t golfing buddies tease a man who plays a golf ball with those cute little hearts on it? They will only tease me until they see me stripe one down the middle of the fairway, hit the green in two and down a six foot putt for birdie. Then they will ask where they can get a ball like this one hehe!!!

The life and love we create is the life and love we live.

Let's welcome the Valentines 2007 with joy, hope and courage.

Another year has passed, time flies...before we knew it, a few days from now and it's 2007!!!

Leave the past behind, whatever happened this year is forever treasured in my memories, it is full of happiness and sorrows but the best thing that ever happened is i found my heart and soul. I was walking around lifeless and like a wave i came ashore and found that there's life ahead of the void ocean. During this process, i may have thread on somebody's or anybody's path consciously or unconsciouly... for all my human frailties, i sought forgiveness and understanding... I love life and intend to live it to the fullest...life is just short and it is a waste of time and energy to live hating instead of loving one another. Yeah, you're right my dear friend, my soul mate,my best friend...all these years we lived life to please somebody, make some lives better...following orders...but we forgot how to seek happiness for our own selves... for once in our life we will enjoy life, follow our hearts' desires whatever it takes, whatever time left before it's too late, we will make time for us, wherever and whatever we got and make the most of it, nothing wasted as if it is our last...ahh life...it is so nice to be alive, we were once young full of hope and anticipation, and it's here , this is it, this is the moment that we have been anticipating for...savor it as if it is our last chance...

On this year and the years ahead... I wish everyone happiness, peace and prosperity!!!

a PROSPEROUS 2007 OF THE BOAR to US!!!

For my dearest friend, who is a BOAR, friend this is your YEAR! I know He will grant all your wishes and as always I wish you the best of everything because you deserve the best..

Happy Valentines Day!!!

Dare to except the reality of life!!

I have gone trough various phases from the time i first put my feet on this planet , i am sure every one passes through life where he finds that life is not a beautiful expression only, it has different shades , some time one becomes so bored with this human existance , that it seems we are no better than animals as far as our freedom is concerned , whole human settelment gets erased from earthquake , we feel streesed by thing beyond our control ;so,is it that we have been used to play different roles in life by some unkown power.

i wonder , if most human beings go through this realization we are just short lived creatures who can exersie no control on forces of nature , even our circumstance tend be beyond our control ,then why we all are so attched to our character in this play of life ...........is it we are afraid of putting this realization into practice or we just like bores who can't aford to come out of mirk?

Very Important

Drinking warm water after a meal.

This is a very good article. Not only about the warm water after your meal, but about ladies and their heart attacks. This makes sense.... the Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals...not cold Water... maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain...

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is not nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks:

Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.

Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive... A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life.

Awesome Story

A woman was out golfing one day when she hit the ball into the woods.

She went into the woods to look for it and found a frog in a trap. The
frog told her, "If you release me from this trap, I will grant you
three wishes."

The woman freed the frog, and the frog said, "Thank you, but I failed
to mention that there was a condition to your wishes. Whatever you wish
for, your husband will get it ten times!"

The woman said, "That's okay."

For her first wish, she wanted to be the most beautiful woman in the
world. The frog warned her, "You do realize that this wish will also make
your husband the most handsome man in the world, an Adonis whom women
will flock to". The woman replied, "That's okay, because I will be the
most beautiful woman and he will have eyes only for me."

So, KAZAM-she's the most beautiful Woman in the world!

For her second wish, she wanted to be the richest woman in the world.
The frog said, "That
will make your husband the richest man in the world. And he will be ten
times richer than you. " The woman said, "That's okay, because what's
mine is his and what's his is mine."

So, KAZAM-she's the richest woman in the world!

The frog then inquired about her third wish, and she answered, "I'd
like a mild heart attack!"

Moral of the story: Women are clever. Don't mess with them!

Attention female readers: This is the end of the joke for you. Stop
here and continue feeling good!

The man had a heart attack ten times milder than his wife!!!

Moral of the story: Women are really dumb but think they're really
smart!
Let them continue to think that way and just enjoy the show!

PS: If you are a woman and are still reading this; it only goes to show
that women never listen!!!

Points to Ponder before saying ‘I love you'

Before deciding to say ‘I love you' some serious thinking should be done. Here are some points to ponder:

* Know the person well enough.
* Ask yourself why the person you are about to propose is special to you. If you are sure about your feeling you won't have to think too much over this aspect.
* Relationships often jump to next step, after ‘I love you' is said from both the sides. Be prepared to plan for a long term commitment or even marriage.
* Your proposal might shock the person or catch them unguarded. Be ready for such a response and to give the person some time to consider your proposal.
* On the subject of manner of proposing, be YOU. No one knows your sweetheart better than you do.
* Make your heart strong enough to hear a ‘NO' for an answer. The other person may not have similar feelings for you. All you could do is to express your feelings in the best possible way rest, as they say, is destiny.

I've received a message saying a virus/spam was sent from my account!

Most organisations nowadays use a virus scanning system to check e-mail arriving at their site. Some of these scanning systems are set up to send a warning back to the sender address given in the infected message, as a warning that their machine might be infected.

Unfortunately most viruses (and indeed spammers) now forge the sender address. This means that the warning message is sent to entirely the wrong person, causing them confusion and worry.

Properly installed virus scanners for e-mail do not nowadays send back such warnings. Unfortunately some sites are still using misconfigured scanners!

In most cases, as long as you have Sophos (or similar anti-virus software) installed on your machine and regularly updated, such messages can be safely ignored. If you are concerned about such a message, use a search engine such as Google to find out whether that virus fakes its 'sent from' address.
